2024 will be a critical presidential election. Many people will be mobilized to supporting either of the candidate or opposing both candidates. However, people can exercise much more influence at the city council where people can demand action on critical areas including affordable housing, livable wages for city workers, mental health support by launching non-police crisis response team, establishing citizens’ commissions and bodies to serve city residents, and passing resolutions that will impact state and national seats of power.
